Whistleblowing, lawyers engaged in defining governance models - Andrea Puccio interviewed by Il Sole 24 Ore
The new ANAC guidelines, published last November, have renewed companies’ focus on whistleblowing and on the update of organisational models.
Legislative Decree No. 24/2023 introduced a comprehensive framework for reporting breaches in the workplace, requiring companies to establish internal channels capable of ensuring the confidentiality of the whistleblower. The Authority’s new guidance provides key clarifications on several operational aspects: from the involvement of trade union representatives to the procedures for reports submission, and from the role of the reporting manager to the development of systems within corporate groups.
Which areas are currently the most exposed to reports, which critical issues are emerging in business practice?
Our Founding Partner Andrea Puccio, interviewed by Il Sole 24 Ore, explained that “From what we are observing in manufacturing companies, the two most significant areas of reporting concern environmental matters and workplace health and safety. At other companies, the conduct reported concerns relations with suppliers, sales agents and reps. Delicate situations are also coming to light in connection with public administration and state-owned or publicly controlled companies.”
