On July 15th, the so-called Whistleblowing Regulation definitively came into force, which requires companies with more than 250 employees, those operating in certain specific sectors (services, products, financial markets, transportation safety, etc.), regardless of their size, and public administrations, to establish a reporting channel for misconduct, ensuring the confidentiality of the whistleblower’s identity and personal data.
Among those interviewed by Il Sole 24 Ore on this topic was Andrea Puccio, who commented: “I fear that smaller companies without the 231 compliance model will encounter significant difficulties. They lack internal resources trained and assigned to handle such reports. Many companies will need to make additional efforts.“
