Cybersecurity Law: new developments in criminal law and corporate liability – Andrea Puccio’s article on Econopoly

On June 19, 2024, the Senate gave its final approval to the long-awaited Cybersecurity Law.
The new legislation makes changes to, amongst others, the criminal offenses of some cybercrimes and the penalties provided for by the Criminal Code, introduces new cybercrimes, amends the Code of Criminal Procedure, and affects, both directly and indirectly, the criminal liability of entities under Legislative Decree 231/2001. The text of the Cybersecurity Law was published on July 2, 2024 and will come into effect on July 17, 2024.
